These are houses where one uses coffee, tea and brandy and all sorts of cakes to accompany the drinks. They become quickly centers in English social life.

In 1706, Tom' s coffee house opened, first home to specialize in tea, on the initiative of Twinnings. In 1717, it will take on a store of dry tea, Golden Delicious Lyons there where the ladies are accepted, contrary to the habitual coffee houses.

Another indication of importance and omnipresence of tea in England in this epoch is the famous " tea for two " which is where you'd find the shouting of the pedlars of London who give a pot of tea for two pence.

Once again, this lithograph has never been displayed or framed.
