I've searched the internet, aand a great many original works of art referencing the name “Whitman”. What I have discovered is a large amount of information on “G Whitman”. That artist is well renowned for his landscapes and, the majority of those featured Mt Carmel. This is very much like the work he created. Something else I believe to have discovered was his distinctive signature. He would sign some of his work, his last name, with a capital T.
The signature on my painting does have this very same distinctive “capital T”. However, this original painting does not include the artist's first name or initial. In my opinion this is his work, but it needs a professional appraisal which is not possible within the confines of my area, Northern Wisconsin.
I do not have access to any catalog of American artists or other reference material. Is this worth tens of times, even hundreds of times more than I am asking here? Don't miss this opportunity to purchase a “diamond in the rough”.

On the back, on the canvas itself, is written “E04-9410”. Measures 24" x 20" without the mat and frame zoom in
