Gold Stamp

      Part of the bicentennial Constitution celebration, this U.S. stamp pays tribute to Delaware as America's first official state. On December 7, 1787, the state convention, meeting in Dover, ratified the federal Constitution ahead of the other 12 colonies. It was also the only ratifying body to give its approval by a unanimous vote.

      This is a proof replica stamp on gleaming surface of 22 Karat Gold. The envelope includes the gold stamp, the actual issue stamp(s) with First Day Of Issue cancellation stamp including issue date, postal code and City, State. Also included on the envelope are the stamp title and Series, if applicable. The gold stamp is mounted on a velvet background card, inserted into the envelope and sealed. In addition to the issued envelope is a card (not shown) describing the stamp’s subject in detail. Both the envelope and card measure approximately 7.5 inches by 4.25 inches each.
