Gold Stamp

The Battle of the Coral Sea, depicted on this U.S. stamp, was the first action ever between carrier fleets. It came about when the Japanese moved to invade Port Moresby on New Guinea and cut the Allied shipping lanes to Australia.

This is a proof replica stamp on gleaming surface of 22 Karat Gold. The envelope includes the gold stamp, the actual issue stamp(s) with First Day Of Issue cancellation stamp including issue date, postal code and City, State. Also included on the envelope are the stamp title and Series, if applicable. The gold stamp is mounted on a velvet background card, inserted into the envelope and sealed. In addition to the issued envelope is a card (not shown) describing the stamp’s subject in detail. Both the envelope and card measure approximately 7.5 inches by 4.25 inches each. This is by The Postal Commemorative Society..
