Purchase This Set for $27.00 plus shipping & insurance
Every page, every cover, even the original red binder is in absolutely pristine condition. Measuring 14½" x 12" it contains approximately 74 First Day Covers all bound within this offical collectors hard bound book. Plus... there are an additional 40+- first day cover pages never placed into this binder. They are still in the shipping box.
Just for the beginners out there: There are three factors to consider when evaluating first day covers.
First is the stamp. With only a few exceptions, U.S. stamps issued since about 1945 have only a nominal catalog value, I know this. But, it is rare to find a collection as complete as this with just one purchase, and for this price (approximately 15¢ per coverplus $10 for the red leatherette binder).
Second is the cachet. Collectors normally demand covers that have a cachet unless they are from before 1930. A cachet is a printed design related to the stamp. Every first day cover in this collection includes this, and a story card describing the stamp and the reason it was created.
Third is the cover. Collectors have an overwhelming preference for covers with no address.
