In 1857 an Act of Congress provided for the recall of Spanish and Mexicn coins, and the issuance of a new nickel small cent. The 1856 Eagle cent was designed to illustrate how this new nickel would appear. It is believed that only a very small number of coins, between 1,000 and 2,000 pieces, were struck in all. There are many varieties for the 1857 and 1858.
Please include the year, description, and quantity you wish to purchase in your email request. Shipping is combined on multiple item purchases. Prices listed are per coin.
