While there is no “official” grading scale for bank notes I have tried to outline the various grades as used in the table below.

• UNC or CU (Crisp Uncirculated) No sign of any handling or wear or folding
• AU (About Uncirculated) Counting fold on one corner or fold in the center
• EF (Extremely Fine) Three light folds or one strong fold which breaks the surface
• VF (Very Fine) Several folds, note still crisp, small tear or hole and minimum of dirt
• F (Fine) Individual folds and creases no longer visible
• VG (Very Good) Tears and small holes can be present
• G (Good) Small pieces missing, graffiti
• F (Fine) Major tears, etc
• P (Poor) What can be said... a miserable example

Identification: Yellow or brown seals are WWII emergency money and are highly collectible. Red and blue seal notes usually bring a premium, dpending on date and condition. Treasury notes that were detroyed and later replaced are identified with a star () next to the serial number. SC in the denomination column denotes a Silver Certificate.
