This 1994 Chinese Unicorn Gold Proof Coin is official legal tender issued by the People's Republic of China. It is issued by the People's Bank of China, minted by China Mint Company and distributed by China Gold Coin Inc. The obverse depicts the Eastern Unicorn and the reverse the Western Unicorn.
We are including this wonderful booklet. This Proof coin is encapsulated in hard plastic and will arrive in its original wood presentation case and protective box. The presentation case measures approximately 5 1/8 inches by 3 3/4 inches.
A Personal Note From The Owner:
This is the “First Year of Issue” for the Chinese Republic offering the Unicorn on a gold coin. Only 1,000 of these pieces were ever produced. This one is numbered 103. Granted, it doesn't break the 100 mark (for you hard core collector's), but an extremely low number all the same.
Look, a good part of my coin collecting hobby was the purchase, and collecting of limited edition, low mintage coins. First year of issue coins will always bring a premium. I wouldn't let this go for less than $4000.
