      I'm offering this is a beautiful example of the Young Head type of a British Gold Half Sovereign. The obverse displays the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, and the reverse features Pistrucci's famous portrayal of St. George slaying a dragon.

      These Proofs can be distinguished from their circulatng counterparts by the exquisite frosted relief and the highly polished table. Proof coins are struck using specially selected blanks and highly polished dies that strike the coin blank with extra firm pressure.
