Offered here is an unbroken series of Proof coin sets, from 1972 through 1979, from Great Britain & Northern Ireland. The 1972 & 1977 coin sets are commemorative sets, issued by the Royal Mint. All remain in the original tamper-proof cache.
The 1972 coin set contains a crown piece specially struck to commemorate the Silver Wedding Anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and HRH Prince Philip - 1947 to 1972.
The 1977 coin set contains a crown piece specially struck to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II - 1952 to 1977.
Of special interest is the 1978 coin set, different from all the rest shown here in that it's sleeve reads “Coinage of United Kingdom + Northern Ireland 1978”. All other coin sets shown here are labeled “Coinage of Great Britain & Northern Ireland”.
