This 1979 One Hundred Balboa Gold Coin was issued in limited edition under the authority of the Republic of Panama and is legal tender in that nation.
This coin was issued to honor the pre-Columbian art of the Cocle Indians, a Panamanian tribe. In the Cocle's highly fanciful pre-Columbian style it portrays the regal condor, a huge bird native to the high Andes, the masive mountain chain that begins in Panama and extends the length of South America to Tierra del Fuego in the south.
The coins reverse bears the official coat of arms of the Republic of Panama. This 100 Balboa was minted with a full Proof finish by The Franklin Mint. It will arrive with the original blue velvet presentation case and certificate of authenticity.
