      By the end of 1991, new leaders such as Boris Yeltsin arose to lead the way toward democracy. When Gorbachev resigned in December of 1991, he became the last Communist ruler of the Soviet Socialist Republics. By January 1, 1992, the Soviet Union no longer existed.

      It was during this period that a few extremely rare coins were produced and then the dies were destroyed. But don't misunderstand, my coins are authentic, legal tender.
